Converting Philippines CPL to UK valid?
Hi everyone. My cousin did this flying training in the Philippines and has a flying expirence of 250 hrs with C-152, C-172, PA-34-200 type ratings including IR and multi-engine. He currently holds a CPL license.
He wants to know if it's possible to transfer the license to become UK valid so he can live and fly in the UK. What necessary measures would he have to take and what are the rules associated with a UK CPL in comparison with that of the Philippines (minimum hours, any extra exams etc).
Also, what are his career prospects if he moved to the UK, could he start any immediate role or would he have to undergo further training? (he wants to move here because his family lives here)

There are several threads you should find easily on converting an ICAO CPL to a UK / JAR CPL (JAR = European) which should answer most of your questions. He can expect however considerable classroom time and some examinations, plus some flying training and a skill test.
Regarding a job for a 250hr foreign CPL in Britain; the chances are extremely poor. The country is full of British CPL/fATPLs with similar qualifications and experience who are job hunting.
If flying training in the Phillipines is of high quality and inexpensive, his best bet might be to set up some competition to those already organising PPL training in the USA and South Africa. That might be quite lucrative and presumably he has all the contacts to do so.
