FAA ATPL for a European ?

Outside the USA, is there anywhere a European who has trained for the FAA ATPL can get employment without converting to the European (JAA/EASA) equivalent?

FAA Employment in Europe

Hi.
It is possible, but you need some hours and experience. Afriend of mine did her FAA CPL/IR then did Para dropping in Africa on the strength of that, then was working on ops with a bizjet company in Southern England using N-reg aircraft and got offered a slot on the Citation.
However; The CAA are trying to restrict N-reg operators doing business here,
and if you really want to fly in Europe what's stopping you getting the JAR CPL/IR? Perhaps it's the groundschool and the 14 or so exams?
That put me off for years, but I finally psyched myself up to do it and did it in 3 sittings. With the amount of feedback around at the moment, it's really not too bad. I wish I'd done it a lot sooner when age was more on ,my side.
The JAR CPL/IR is a ticket to fly anywhere in the world. Go for it.

thanks

Thanks for your reply.

May convert FAA to JAA then when i get funds/time.

Was curious whether it was worth doing conversion if there are tons of jobs in Asia and if they accepted the FAA ATPL. (obviously if work permits were also obtainable for Europeans)

Nice to know your friend found work out in Africa with it too.
