What now???

Hi there,
I need some help on what to do next. I started flying in 2000, went to the USA 6 days after 9/11 not great timing i know, to finish my ppl to a well known school in stuart. passed a ppl or so i thought but when i got back to the uk the caa would not issue the licence bacuse i required further hours in uk registered facility.
13hours 42mins, 4hrs 18mins pic.
this was because some of my earlier flying was done in ireland. these hours were never completed as my situation changed and i was not in a position to continue training. my last flight was on the 4th oct 2002.
i have no ppl, 63hrs in my log book and i want to take the modular route to get my fATPL.
does anyone know if i will have to resit the ppl course, written exames and all, in order to get the ppl issued?
this would give me a log book with approx 110hrs just for a ppl!!
will this have a negitive effect on my future in the job market having taken so long and so many hrs to do it.
alittle bit concerned about my age as well, i'm the wrong side of 30!
any suggestions.....
