ratio

Here is an example for you from a Performance paper ..

Given a still air gradient of climb 3.8%, true air speed , groundspeed 130kts. The wind effictive climb is ???

: This is simply just a ratio question , I could give you plenty of examples but there is no need , simple maths can work them out using the same principles ..

Solution : 3.8% multiplied by 100 devided by 130 = 2.9% and thats your answer ..

hope that helps .TopGun

That Question should have read :

Given : still air gradient of climb 3.8%, tas 100kts,groundspeed 130kts. The wind effective climb gradient is ?

solution is the same as above .... Topgun
