Austro Control NOTAM system now live

Thise who have followed the NOTAM saga may be aware that Thales IS issued a press release over a year ago on 29 January 2002 stating that "Based on @ES, Austro Control will offer new Self-Briefing and Home-Briefing services starting in April 2002 to their customers. "

I gather that it is now live and has been for about 2 weeks. So a lead time of 3 months became 13 months.

Those of a masochistic bent might care to have a look at https://www.homebriefing.com

You can register and get free access for up to 3 months with a free 175 point usage credit. NOTAM briefs cost 8 points and an update costs 2 points.

750 points would cost you 105 Euro plus VAT

If you use a self-briefing terminal at an Austrian airport it's free.

It may be of interest to see how the someone else is trying to implement the same software.

Typical.

It took 47 seconds to load the bloody login page!

Thales have learned absolutely nothing from the complete disaster they sold to UK-AIS.

I found the login page loaded instantly - but I'm not going to spend any time or money trying the system out!

However, clock the nice userguide at https://www.homebriefing.com/demonstration/en/index.htm - shows how this could be done better by AIS!
