Hire costs for a PA28?
Apologies if this has been covered ad nauseam before, but I failed to find a previous thread on this.
Having just passed my test on a C152 and got signed off to fly and hire my club's PA28 161s, I wanted to ask a question on costs.
I think I'm looking at £85 per hour wet and no landing fees - does this sound out of line with the market for hiring this sort of aeroplane?
By way of background, I live in central London, would look to travel no more than 1 hour to an airfield and, surprise surprise, would be flying at the weekends(!)
Thanks.

Depends on how far you want to travel. Closer in around London area and it will range from £120 - £145, further out and it will be around the £90.
If you find one at £85 wet let me know

Have a look at the prices charged by Skyline School of Flying at Little Gransden (EGMJ). http://www.skyline.flyer.co.uk/ is the web site, and prices are under the 'Aircraft' heading. We members know that our prices (all wet and no additional landing fee) are hard to beat.

If you can get a Pa28 for £85/hour wet take his hand off then tell me where it is.
Even up north they cost more than this.
It does have an engine and those wingy things doesn't it?
Usual rate seems to be £100-110 for PPL hire plus landings.

PA28-181 (with engine & wings also nice panel refit)
70 squids per year club membership
85 per hour wet
and 100 dual for the annual check flight
I admit I had to look around but the biggist bonus is excellent facilities and a frendly club.
