I know this is not totally relevant - but it does underline the tax situation that you guys are in, in the UK - and it also shows about rip-off mark-ups.

Cheapest Florida fuel: Pahokee 31 pence per litre ($1.82 per US gallon assuming £1 = $1.50 and 3.85 litres to the Imp Gall)

Dearest Florida fuel: Miami International 71 pence per litre (same mathematics)

How can one place charge $1.82 and a close neighbour charge $4.09??

Gone West?

Surely the Amercians sell petrol in the US Gallon rather than the Imp Gallon. The US Gallon is smaller (only 16 fluid ounces I think as opposed to 20 for the imperial)

Your conversion factors are nearly there, though - one US gallon is 3.79 litres.

cheers!
foggy.

It can vary quite a lot from airport to airport but average price in Italy is 1,50 Euro a litre inclusive of VAT.

Hey, DB6, Keef is right - why so angry??!! (Or perhaps since English without swearing seems to be very difficult for you, I should say why the f**k are you so blo*dy angry about this statutory charge boll**ks?)

Not everyone SUFFERS it, even if they have to settle it initially at purchase.

When VAT Registered, there's a likelihood that you'll claim it back monthly or quarterly anyway.

You may not be VAT Registered, others are!
