Symbols to the left of threads

Anyone know what the symbols to the left of threads mean?

I'm sure they have something to do with how many posts...recent posts or frequency of posts.....but not quite sure exactly what each mean!!

Er, where?
Bottom, left-hand side of page.

BUT, only in the main menu for each forum, NOT in each thread

So, go back to Private Flying & it should be there

Retires smugly

Sir. If you look on the main Private flying page, the one with the threads on it, you will notice a yellow down arrow just next to where it says 'Last Post'. When a thread has a new post in it, the yellow down arrow will indicate this next to the title of the thread that indeed does have the last post. Simple really. If your as bored as i am right now() then click on any of the words in the blue bar such as 'Rating' where you will see the threads that are rated come up with the newest rating shown by a yellow arrow.

If this is what you were looking for in the way of a reply from me then great, hope you understand it. If not, sorry for wasting you and everyone elses time boring you all to death with this answer.... (Unless you were refering to someone else when you mentioned Smartypants then i really do owe you an apology.....!!!!!
