Flying a microlight with an ATPL License
Hi guys,
Just a quick one, a friend of mines who is an examiner reckons that I can fly my mates jabiru (microlight) using my ATPL ? Is this possible? Or do I need an SEP rating on it? My SEP lapsed a few years ago...
Cheers,
👌

In the UK you need either SEP + microlight differences, or microlight. Certainly can't fly it just on your MET rating, which is I assume what you've got current.
You can get chapter and verse from the BMAA if you give them a call, they have a couple of people in the office in Deddington who leave and breath this stuff and can give you the right answer straight off if you give them a call in working hours, or email them.

However, because they are Annex II (below EASA's attention threshold) they are treated differently in different countries, so if this Jabiru is in Spain as per your profile, you need to check for a local answer.
