Question

If the grass is wet I will not be happy with less than 700m R/W. I hope that their hedge is in good shape. Still preffer EGBG option.

Gamston has no refreshment facilities owing to the local parish council.

I would prefer Leicester in the wet circumstances... more central if the weather is crappy, less of a journey for our resident rotor head and firm runways minimising the risks. Wet grass, read ice!

Whatever the choice I will do my best wherever the final destination... vote on it tomorrow at 5pm?

My mobile... 07715 175746 if needed.

My mobile's 07718.045292. BUT..I'm not sure there's any signal in the wilds of Shobdon. No matter; I've got everyone elses's, so hopefully I'll find out where we're going. But can I suggest we change it to Leicester now. The BBC seems to think we have more rain tomorrow, with sunshine and showers on Saturday - ie, flyable but no chance of the grass drying out. Anyway, whatever gets decided had maybe better get posted to the PPRuNe Bashes forum too, as I have a vague memory of someone who reads that but doesn't read this one saying they were coming - just a thought.

Just a reminder, I'm sure you all have a Pooleys or aerad etc, but there are mandatory noise abatement procedures in place. Suggest you get a briefing/fax from the airport if you do not have any info. In summary they are:-

ARRIVALS
========

RWY 29LH Avoid Hambleton on base leg
RWY 11RH Turn base leg on western side of south Milford
RWY 01LH/19RH Rwy 19 turn base leg early to keep clear of Church Fenton ATZ to the north. Also when using 01LH or 19RH turn DOWNWIND early to keep to the east of Sherborn Village (Follow rail/road line)
RWY 06 RH Do not overfly South Milford
RWY 24 LH Keep to the east of B1222

NOTES:

1. Pilots are to avoid overflying the local villages when in traffic circuit.

2. Pilots flying aircraft with variable pitch propellers should always approach the airfield with RPM set to minimum cruise and only select 'MAX RPM' on final approach at 300' aal.

There are departure procedures as well, but these no doubt can be obtained from the clubhouse/radio guy.

Lets keep the locals GA Friendly...

Red face

The Yak's non-radio at present, so I guess Sherburn would be better. I can't beleive it would be waterlogged- Barton is the last airfield to dry out after rain and that is quite usable at present.
