Looking to visit this ex RAF Bomber station in Lincs to see their beautifully preserved Lancaster which often does taxying runs, day & night! Heard last year of someone that had landed there for a visit. Marked on the latest charts as disused. Does anyone know if visiting light aircraft are allowed anymore?

Untill a short time ago light aircraft could land at east kirkby but i tryed about 3 weeks ago and they would not let us in i suspect that its because of the foot and mouth thing.

I landed there last year. Good sized runway. The taxiing Lancaster is awesome - their crowd control is more relaxed than at airshows, so you can almost watch from under the wingtip. A very friendly place.
I assume the museum will let you know if it is possible to fly in at the moment.
