Smile VW engines...

Hi,there
another set of questions for the floor...
Is there a book/manual on VW engine conversions, especially including belt redrive, electronic ignition and fuel injection?
Does anyone know of a good Type 4 conversion?
Any preference for direct-drive or redrive on a Type 4?
What is the most,in terms of horsepower, can one expect from a Type 2 with a redrive?
many thanks
TDD

Hey Dead dogs
Great plains aircraft published the VW Aero Conversion Engine Assembly Manual by Steve Bennett, and Donald Peacock published a good type four conversion, copies of both are held in the archives of the shuttleworth collection(Kildare Branch) Unfortunately if you are not in good standing with them or have belittled their ground handleing equipment in the recent past then prehaps you should expect no favours from them. However a wealth of information is held at lynch international airpark.best of luck
