I've used two places in Miami - Airborne Systems at Fort Lauderdale Exec and Pelican at North Perry.
Very happy with both operators.

If you have the time, and they'll let you take it there - go to the Bahamas! Much easier than you think, and a lot of fun. Marsh Harbour or Treasure Cay are very near, and a lot of fun to visit.
Safe flights, Sam.

I recommend Dean international
I flew a few times out of Tamiami with Dean International (Dean International) They have a large fleet, a few very nice planes (C172 G1000) and are willing to let you fly to the Bahamas (quite a few schools there refused me this opportunity because of insurance reasons)
