I was watching the winter olympics today, and wondered if / how the american homeland paranioa people, stop private flights from canada ? just out of interest

They have a big wall along the border with AA missiles on it....ay...those dodgey canadians....ay...don't venture oot across this border...ay....that's how. You never seen South Park?

You haven't yet gone through the hoops of enrolling in eAPIS; then putting in a flight declaration.

At least in Canada, you don't have the worry of a bunch of armed to the teeth SWAT types driving up and pointing their weapons at you as has happened to a few folks who filed notices of departure from the USA

You have always been subject to inspection departing the US (and most other countries), but the Yanks are doing quite a bit more of it. The last time I drove back to Canada, SWAT types were stopping folks at the side of the road on the way out.
