The low level & aerodrome NOTAMS seem to have been filtered out, presumably to avoid clutter
.

Closed runways & taxiways, low level obstructions etc. aren't shown on the map. Nothing that you wouldn't find out about if you ring for PPR, but probably less embarrassing if you knew about it before ringing.

Not too sure about he shape of the Stansted TMZ either.

A little less conversation,
a little more aviation...

This is part of one of my pet projects.

That KML rendering only shows 'W'arning and 'R'estriction NOTAMs - as it happens, I think the performance of the KML rendering within Google Maps can be variable, and I have a custom map replacement (not relying on KML) which is just about ready to go - you can preview a pre-release version here:

UK 48-Hour Notams : Warnings and Restrictions

- although that link will expire shortly. I'd recommend a modern browser with good Javascript performance for the custom map - Chrome, Safari, Firefox, IE8 in that order. Google Map overlays don't seem to work with Opera though.

The depiction of the Stansted TMZ shows both the extent as notified in the Q-line, and also a projection of the dimensions as described in the E-line, and yes, as far as I can tell, they *really* don't actually line up - but you see quite a bit of that sort of thing (the inner representation hasn't been generated in the replacement map yet, defaulting to a simple linear interpretation of the co-ordinates in the E-line).

As noted in the replacement map, iPhone and Android users can view the same information in a web-app hosted at

UK 48-Hour NOTAMs for iPhone and Android

The usual caveats apply - at the very least, the iPhone webapp gives you a speed-dial for the AIS information line.

Personally I think it's high time there was an official, guaranteed graphical interface. IMHO seeing is far easier than reading in this case.
You won't get one until ICAO adopts AIXM for the simple reason that the current ICAO NOTAM format does not contain data suitable for graphical plotting. It's a project being run by Eurocontrol and the FAA.
