Best place to buy vintage avionics?
Hi....
I know this is a bit of a long shot but I am looking for some really old avionics equipment that doesn't even need to be working.
I am building a mock up of a Cessna 152 and looking for some really old vintage radios such as the ARC avionics gear (RT528 etc), looking for an audio panel and nav com radio, even an XPDR or ADF will be much apreciated. Will be ripping off the faceplates and mounting them so the broken the better (and cheaper)......
If any of you happen to come across and broken gear then please send me a message as I will be highly grateful for it!
Very kind Regards.
Alex

Thank you
Thanks guys, I have had a few PM's offering various sources of information.
I think I should be OK now.
Remember me if you hear of anything though.
Very Kind Regards.

I wonder if ...
... I might "tail end" this thread with a request for any information to help me check out a 1966 vintage Dittel FSG6/63 (I think that is the model)? A handbook or circuit or even a sales brochure containing facts about the radio would be really useful.
Any assistance will be gratefully accepted!
Regards, Aerials

Most Uk flying clubs still have the stuff fitted to aircraft!
Is it any wonder!!!
The process of fitting new equipment is just an expensive farce.
What starts off life being pumped off a line in Singapore for about $300 ends up in the UK at $3000 and then costs a further £700 or to install and approve!
I have also seen the old wires left in place and all sorts off poor work, approved though, that’s another story......
Sadly the club who spends £20K on their panel will still only get the artificially low price per hour which we currently charge in the UK!
Then the receivers get an aircraft which is easy to sell!
When clubs/school start charging properly maybe they can then spend the money on the asset. I can not see it happening soon, sadly....
