JAA to FAA Licence: time taken for application?

Hi All,

Can anyone advise how long it is taking at present for applications for FAA licences on the basis of JAA licences to be processed? Does anyone know how long it normally takes please? (I'm applying for a FAA PPL(A) on the basis of a JAA/UK PPL(A)).

Three weeks for me back in January (by post). Temporary certificate over the counter in the USA. A further six weeks for the plastic card to arrive.
It did have a photograph on it! But it wasn't me. It was some politician.

about 2 weeks for me during May. Will attend my appointment at the designated FSDO on summer vacation. They say allow 90 days, so beware!

Last year the FAA took over 4 months to get the plastic licence to me. The temporaries are only valid for 120 days, so this caused some stress. Temporaries are quick to arrive.
