A quick chuckle

See the picture here:

Lanzarote: Plane Skids Off Runway As It Lands In Canary Islands From Glasgow Thomas Cook | World News | Sky News

dont bother reading the report (the usual rubbish)

but I can assure you the comment is made:

"There was a problem on landing."

Putting the picture together with the comment and I couldnt help thinking

- you dont say!

The art of the bleeding obvious at its very best.

We flew in there many years ago when the runway was a lot shorter,in a DC10.
Quite a big plane for a short runway, the weather was atrocious and we landed after 3 aborted attempts, flying very low around the hills to have another try.
The airport was shut after we landed.
We ended up trying to find our friends new house in a monsoon, walking around a half built housing complex on our own,as the taxi driver had given up.
Eventually found the house but we were like drowned rats,so much for our first visit to the Canaries!
On the way home the pilot said that some of us had probably been on that flight, and it was as bad as it looked.
