Cool Flying club in Yorkshire

I will be working in Wetherby, Yorkshire for a few weeks. Can anyone recommend a flying club/school I could check out while I'm here. I'm a southern wuss Londoner, (home base Blackbushe) so this is completely alien territory for me here oop t'north.

Sherburn is probably your best bet.

I've landed at Rufforth a few times (western edge of York,) don't know if there is a club there though... but it does have a very long and wide runway.

As GA airfield runways go Rufforth does have a longish and wide runway, about 1200m,long enough for King Airs and the like to get in,but it is a gliding club so does not offer PPL holders any type of check out flying unless you want to fly a Slingsby Venture motorglider?
