Pilotho,
Yeah I was flying VFR from 13:00 - 15:00 and although there was a fair bit of haze and the cloud base was only about 2000ft it was clear enough where I was (Wellesbourne Mountford) to do my first solo! Bad luck with the skills test, hope the weather holds out for you in future

Cheers Yeah it went excellent thanks, probably one of my best circuits and landings so far! I was fine until I got out of the aircraft, then I got all shaky lol. Must be great for you though, so close to completing your PPL! Good luck with the skills test whenever you take it

The airfield where I work was closed until mid-morning due to fog. It never really cleared. I got a PIREP just after lunch (I do air/ground radio), giving 3 km vis. Not good enough for most PPLs, let alone a GFT! Grit your teeth and book your examiner for every possible day you can. The day before mine the wind was so strong I was doing stalling/slow flight over the same field for 30 min. The next day was as clear, bright and calm as you could possibly hope for.
