euro IR charges

Does anyone know the state of play for IR charges for private flights over europe with the new euro control? (plane is over 2 tonnes) I presume that in the Uk you can file a plan, fly imc and join airways at dover, but if the charges are low i suppose airways all the way........planning a trip to geneva also before i sift through the papers does anyone know if you need a ground handling agent or is GA ok?

just answered my own question - in case anyone else is interested have alook at http://www.pplir.org/index.cfm/pageid/2/subpageid/44

One of the key things to remember is that you pay enroute charges for the entire length of your route within an FIR if any of the flight within that FIR was IFR. From that point of view, DVR is a very bad place to pick up IFR when outbound from the UK. And note also that it's IFR, not flight on airways that matters -- you can fly the length of the UK at night without talking to a single controller and still be charged.
