Now there's a very, very good point : can you hear the stall warner in your plane if you're using ANR ? Interesting ...
Also, speaking as someone who has 4 headsets already, is there an upgrade route for David Clark headsets ?

DC upgrade
Yepp,
There is a DC upgrade......
Sell them like I did, they do have value, but only second hand !
I now have 5 headsets in my plane
1 Bose X for the left seat, best there is, one for the price of two and-a-half
1 Senheisser KMEC 25s for my eldest son (small ears) great ANR, no passive reduction.
1 Senheisser HMEC 300 good ANR , good passive reduction
1 Sennheiser HMEC 100 only passive
1 Pilot Cadet for our big baby.

I am glad the “can you hear the aircraft” question came up. I discovered my tail wheal landings were better when I wore the club headsets. I now switch off the Bose as part of my vital actions on downwind. I have never owned up to it before as I was convinced I was mad.
