Trip To Maroochydore
Hi All,
I am planing a trip Bankstown to Maroochydore next month and wonder what the norm is up there for a VFR flight to transet the Brisbane "C" Class Airspace. I Notice a VFR lane via Stradbroke island is this the best way to go. Or are airways clearences granted without drama there.
Thanks in advance.

Matt - as Iwilly said, the VFR lane past South Stradbroke is worth it for the sun, sand and blue water.
I recently flew coastal up to Caloundra and it was great scenery, especially the 500' leg from Hastings Point past the Gold Coast. Call Brisbane Radar for clearance, not Cooly tower. Keep an eye out for all the helicopters in the Southport MBZ doing scenics along the beach there.
Check NOTAMS re the Evans Head restricted area south of Ballina. If it's active you can't go coastal so plan with that in mind.
Cheers, Max
