Vincent Aviation to expand DRW base

Did anyone see the article in the nt news on monday re vincent aviation and the possible termination of TL's centre run?

Airnorth are considering ending their hugely unprofitable alice-tennant-katherine-darwin run from 1 november if loads don't improve, they are unlikely to.

vincent is apparently in the final stages of gaining approval for their rpt license so may be looking at this route, they don't seem to have much other work out of darwin apart from their NZDF freight contract, hard to see how they survive, apparently the air Ngukurr Maningrida run has been suspended already, what do they do with two 1900's and a C406?

The article in Monday's rag smelt of some free advertising to get some more work...

Been awayn from the centre for a while but understand the major problem with centre run was the metro. Pax loath to travel in them. Much better loadings when the Braz was running every day.

Topend 3 - vincent do not have a contract with the nzdf.
In fact they are quite busy picking up business all over the place and people are very happy to use them, for a change people in the territory are getting a good service all round.
Free advertising you think. Sort of like when a/north winge about there unprofitable runs in the paper why don't they supply a better service and machines and then maybe people will "want" to use them not just use them because there is no one else !

The a/c are nz registered for a good reason.

VRD, you may find that it is only certain parts of the centre run that are not profitable. With the recent movement of certain aircraft in a certain direction, you may find that that little problem might be covered already...... But then again, I've been wrong before.

Have a great day.

HA, from what I've heard you organised a ripper of a day (the other day), good onya! When are ya down next?

The former Airnorth 402's in Alice are now operated by Chartair I believe. Airnorth now only operate a turbine fleet of Metros and Brasilia's.

VRD - May be Vincent will pick up the run from Darwin to Alice and return, although I don't think they could afford to lose very much money doing so. Their attempt at Maningrida looked pretty dismal.
