I suppose with 150 odd views versus 4 - no make that 3 comments, that just about says it all.
But good point - of course i will go and have a look in some of those company's out there. Here's hoping there aren't too many knockbacks, they can really get a person down eh!
thanks guy's...

Try not to let the above posts get you down. Have a read of this post. It may make you think twice about where that first job may happen.

Are you saying a pilot with 1100 hours (700 in Chieftains) has too many hours to be in GA ? Are you saying those hours are more than enough for the regionals to "grab" you? You think it is "so easy" to get a job with a regional ?
Get real I say.
There are many "good" pilots out there with well over 5000 hours who are yet to land a job with a regional.

Didn't you say in another topic :
"So if you are that sort of age and not flying you probably won't get far with QANTAS because they think you are not keen enough"
I am quite sure many pilots with these hours are applying to the regionals however they are still "keen on flying" something else in the meantime (following your advice).

I know of one operater at BK that is short of piston twin pilots, because all their pilots got jet rated and are toooooo cool to lower themselves back into piston twins...
Ask around, it will become apparent.

Interesting comment Dog, I know this is a rumour network but you may want to check your facts before posting something like that. I agree with both of the previous however. Plenty of 5000+ who are not in the regionals, but never to early to apply.

GUY'S - thanks so much for all the feedback. I must say that i'm blown away by all the responses shown here. I left it on my last message, thinking that would be that. But when i logged on today and found this, - WOW!
404 Titan thanks so much for the link mate. Also to Mooney Operator cheers too.
Hugh Jarse cheers m8 and thanks for your time - check your PM's
Orangepeel many thanks too for your time - check your PM's
Dogimed - thanks for your input, i'll certainly keep a look out round BK.
And to everyone that had a say - thanks thanks thanks.
This would have to be the best feedback i've ever had. Hope i get to run into alot of you over time and shout a beer!
Cheers guy's!
BTW, for (Jet A Knight's) info earlier requested in the topic, out of the 1100 odd, more than 550 in command excluding icus on multi, and more than 150 excl. icus on singles. Nearly 100 night total. The actual I.F. component is about 140,and sim I.F. is about 65. (Keeps refreshed)!!
Thanks again for everyone's input here.

140 hours actual IF out of 1100 total sounds like you have been flying VH-BIC for a while, especially if you only got 700 in multi IFR aircraft. That works out to be about 20% of your flight time in ME IFR aircraft.
I once read in a book that IF time should normally be about 10% of your flight time, but I am well aware this will vary with where you fly.
How do you log your IF ?
Whenever there's a cloud in the sky ? (like some other pilots do)
Whenever you are not in VMC because of seperation from cloud even though you are still flying by visual reference to what you see outside ?
