How bad (or good - wishful thinking) is it back home?
Looking for a bit of advice - hope someone can help me out. Spent the last ten years flying in the balmy climes of Canada, but I’m getting laid off from our national regional carrier in 2 months.
Have got Canadian ATPL, Aussie CPL, 5000 hrs turbine (with a little jet thrown in), and will complete my conversion for an Aussie ATPL as soon as I get home.
Is there any opportunity in Oz? Would Aussie carriers look at a bloke with most of his time accumulated in North America? I know Qantas has frozen hiring for a while but what about regional, GA levels, or is it all dark there too?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
