Instructing in OZ

Hi There

I'm considering coming over to OZ for a year on a working holiday visa. I am almost finished with my South African CPL/IR(ME), and I would very much like to Instruct in OZ.

My questions are:

1. How much of a ball ache is to convert an SA licence to an Australian one. From the CASA website it appears to be just a matter of writing an additional exam, flight test and medical, but how easy in reality is it.

2. What is the state of the job market for newly qualified instructors.

3. Would it be better to do my initial instructor rating in OZ rather than getting one in SA and then having to convert that?

Look forward to getting some replies and suggestions of where is best to base myself.

Many Thanks

Hi George for my two bobs worth, I think it would be better to do the FI course here then you would understand our sylabus, and as you hunt around for a school you may get a job with them when you qualify. There are many new Instructors here without jobs, hope that helps Cheers Q
