Jobs at outback stations.
.....going out to burn 10x dead beasts, after the Boss (BTW this is a DWS story) accidentally poisoned them (and one of his dogs). In the back of a bull buggy, with four jerry cans of an exciting mogas'n'diesel cocktail, no lids for two of them...I volunteered to ride in the back to keep them upright. Mad ringer of course starts driving 50-60mph over bush, so steamchicken's strides are soaked in gas, it's swilling about the load bay...then I saw him light a rollie in the windowless cab..flying glowing ash..I felt The Fear! As it turned out we couldn't get'em lit without every drop of fuel, then (of course) a near-explosion and our own little fire front takes off across the spinifex. ****. And - this being Danny's Beefwood Stn. out of Fitzroy Crossing - not even a coldy at the end of it (dry camp!!).
Helping another Boss (Corunna Downs, Marble Bar WA) whack a roo we'd hit in the ute to death. Fumbling about in the dark among the stock saddles, fencing wire etc on the back he grabbed the first thing he got lose - a 17mm spanner. Meanwhile the wounded beast was staggering, injured or stunned, about in the headlights. And he started swinging at its nut with the tiny spanner - it took him a good six blows to draw blood. He wanted me to "get hold of it!" Balls to that. I fetched the handle of a high lift jack. Much more effective! And all fer free dogmeat....worse of all he forgot about the dingo bits he took for the $35 WA Govt bounty off two dogs he shot, firing past me, halfway up a windmill, with his Lee Enfield .303 short (the fear again), and left them on the ute...pretty good stink!
All in all...I'd do it again like a ****en rocket!

Must try and forget just how many times you'll get "rewarded" in the yards, if you are too slow getting up the rails. Ahh, the pain comes flooding back....

Just another quick question to you all, does flying out on a station require a low level rating ?
I am currently in perth at the moment, who would be a good company to do the LL rating with?
Also does working on a station require a dangerous goods licence?
Thanks again, have really appreciated the help in this thread so far!
Defiant.

No, you dont require a DG if not working for hire/reward, as you would be doing in this situation. Yes, if you intend working cattle or sheep or whatever, you will require a low level endorsment. Additionally, you will require a mustering rating. PM me and i will give you some names and addys for the required endos/ratings.
