Cabin Crew Duty Times

Hi,

I am doing some research into cabin crew duty times and associated rest periods allowed for by Australian operators. Am mostly interested in smaller RPT and charter companies operating turbo-props and small jets.

Under existing operations manuals can anybody tell me what limits are currently imposed on cabin crew. Are they afforded the same considerations in the aforementioned area as tech crew? If not, why not?

Are there any relevant fatigue studies available (other than tech crew)?

I'd appreciate thoughts and comments from those in the know.

Thanks in advance.

You would probably get a better response in the cabin crew forum. May I also suggest you contact the FAAA who would be able to give you the most up to date information in regards to duty hour limitation.
Domestic and international awards vary.
Domestically we had a 9.5 hour (blocked) limitation however could work up to 12 hours due to delays.
Any duty performed over 8 hours required a 15 hour rest period in home base.
Duty away from home overnighting: minimum rest period of 10 hours with duty following day not to exceed 6.5 hours. 15 hours rest in home base.
Internationally we worked at AN up to 14.5 hours (Bali return). Following this there was a 5.5 hour credit non work day the following day.
Hope this helps somewhat.
