The Sales Agent is Raine & Horne Hobart, and the property is available with vacant possession. The advertisement suggests "massive potential for industrial subdivision (STCA)", because after the aerodrome was sold off by the Federal Government, YCBG was only required to be maintained as an airport until 2004.

Looks like land development has been ongoing around the airport for some time. Which operators still use the airport? Wiki suggests Par Avion, Helicopter Resources & Aero Club of Southern Tasmania: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cambridge_Aerodrome. It goes on to say that "Par Avion owns and operates Cambridge Aerodrome" (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Airlines_of_Tasmania). So if it is being sold, do the operators intend to relocate?

Update: From the boundary of the property for sale shown at: https://www.realcommercial.com.au/fo...7170-504605952 the Helicopter Resources hangars and tarmac are not part of sale so presumably they could continue to operate even if the rest of the airport might be re-developed in future by a new owner.

The owners, if they are who I think they are, are very astute businessmen who have done well with this airport, purchased when the government felt happy to give away Australians assets. I hope they do very well out. of this as I am sure they will.

It would be hard to imagine runway 30/12 and the associated taxiways closing, there are some million dollar hangars being constructed with some completed with access.to the taxiway. I believe these are freehold with guaranteed airport access.

The runway is listed in the ERSA as below 5,700 kg only. Is this is a structural pavement limit or a regulation. Could it be increased to about 8,000kg to allow Kingair 350's and that slightly biggesr class.
