"...The Australian (newspaper) has been busy exposing how the supposedly grassroots anti-coal groups in Australia are being funded by the US and with the full knowledge and approval of John Podesta who used to be a special counselor to Barak Obama and is now Hillary’s campaign chairman. Thanks to Wikileaks for the info..."
FB,
Will you stop quoting Jo Nova, she isn't an engineer and nor is she a climate scientist. Her degree is in microbiology and she has a grad degree in science communication.
Everyone should know FB is a climate denialist.

Is there not some suspicion here that the Aussie economy is maybe being manipulated?
The same criminals that pushed cigarettes and asbestos long after it was known their product was toxic are now pushing fossil fuels. They also featured large in the recently released 'Paradise Papers' where the immoral use of tax havens has been exposed.
In a nutshell these big companies cause more cost and human misery than their pay cheques and minimised tax payments will ever cover.
Why do we support these bludgers on society when there are better ways of doing things?
Who cares what the mine is for? Whether it's coal or copper, why should a giant Indian conglomerate get a 8-10 figure handout from our taxes? If they can't make the numbers work they can go elsewhere and someone else can have a go. The government has no business funding it unless it's going to be our new revenue-generating nationally owned mining company.
How much extra flying work does Flying Binghi really think a FIFO airstrip will generate? I suspect he doesn't particularly care he just wants to see more coal mines built.

That money would frankly be much better spent if you just gave it to the Australians who will supposedly get work out of the mining operation.

Chuboy if you accept the wisdom of this old Chinese proverb wouldn't it make sense to immediately spend the money on CSIRO research to quickly determine the most economical, sustainable way to harvest, transport and store clean energy. Once that decision was made there would be jobs for everyone, not just a handout for a few for a while.
I do understand there quite a few Binghis out there that think more like the alternative proverb:-
Give a man a fish , he eats for a day. Teach a man to fish, he sits in a boat and drinks beer all day.
Tim Flannery is a palaeontologist, Ross Garnaut is an economist, Alan Finkel is a neuroscientist. Apparently you don't need to be an engineer or a climate scientist if you are on the alarmist side?

Adani bought India flights for Queensland mayors of councils paying $30m for company airstrip
Rockhampton Mayor Margaret Strelow received more than $1,600 in hospitality gifts from Adani during an official trip to India earlier this year, the council has revealed.
The local labor guys knew she is a piece of work and denied her pre selection in the upcoming state election. She has now quit council and is running as an independent in the state election. Sort of a Tony Abbott of Central Qld. Hopeless and spiteful.
If the ratepayers of Rockhampton had any brains they would form a ratepayers action group and slap a caveat over all the assets of all the idiot councilors that voted to give Adani money so they could recover for the ratepayers at least some of the money that's going to be lost.

...Hey Binghi great business plan. Trouser $1,600 to swan around India and receive other ah hem benefits and then give Clive of India $15.5 million of RATEPAYERS money to build an airport in the desert which will be no use to man or beast when the coal deal falls over. Adani 1 Ratepayers Nil
Margaret Strelow is no friend of aviation. She dudded a local out of well north of $1 million when he built an approved airport, fuel supply and rental hangars when his property was in the Livingston shire. When the councils amalgated he had the misfortune to fall into Strelow's hands. She ignored the previous written approvals and forced the closure of his business.

As to the credibility of the rest of yer post..
Whilst we is on credibility...
She said the veto was to remove a conflict of interest with her partner.
Bull:
Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk says she was unaware of internal Labor polling gauging public reaction to a Commonwealth loan to Adani until after her controversial decision to veto it.
Also bull: her claim that Queensland's Integrity Commissioner urged a veto:
The Integrity Commissioner examined this conflict of interest and none of the three options he gave Palaszczuk involve cancelling support for the loan or endangering the Adani project in any way.
This stinks to high heaven. Is this how Labor decides to risk the jobs of thousands of Queenslanders?

The biggest risk to jobs in Qld is the LNP. Last time they sacked 14,000 workers and wanted to sell asets. What secret skullduggery are they up to this time?
The next biggest risk is the Federal LNP's pet theory 'TRICKLE DOWN' You know where you give companies tax breaks and they expand and put on more workers. Well the NAB made a record $6.6 Billion cash profit and at the same time flagged sacking 6,000 employees. (Over 4 times the number Adani might average.) What will they do with all that cash? A quick read of the Paradise Papers is a good guide.
'F#@K UP' would be a better description of that theory for most workers.
