I headed down there and had a good time. I don't have an exact number of aircraft that flew in, however it was pretty good considering the weather on the Friday morning was on the deck. People have been complaining about the entry fee which I thought was ok for 3 days (for pilots flying in). There was a fence which caused some whining however it was only outside the flying clubs and didn't block the flying display. It was there to ensure that people didn't sneak in - just a fault of the aero drome layout not allowing it to be done any other way. One of the flying fraternities was effectively fenced out completely so visitors couldn't get to them from airside, however I trust the judgement of the organizers on that decision as I don't know the facts.
There were a reasonable number of vendors there including OzRunways, Garmin, CASA, QBE etc and a good number of other big ones including avionics mobs. The 6 seater Diamond twin was impressive to look at.
Caught up with old mates, made new ones and had an enjoyable time. Pity the weather up north stopped a few but thems the breaks as they say.
Overall 9/10 for the event, keeping in mind that GA in Australia is small and has a lot of nay-sayers, so to get even that many there is a great effort.
