Air NZ Pilot Contract
Hi everyone,
I am currently an A320 pilot in the USA and I have an opportunity to interview with Air NZ. I know that ANZ is very protective of the numbers in the new contract but I was wondering if anyone could share a bit of the info as to the life of an ANZ pilot (basic pay, travel benefits, decent medical, average schedule of a new Second Officer)?
I have a wife and kid and I want to make sure I make the best decision possible for my family.
Thanks!

I can't answer any of the specifics of your question.... But you are likely to go in direct as an A320 FO. Air NZ can't seem to get wide body SOs in sufficient numbers to transfer to A320 FO.

Hey thanks for your responses. Like I said the main reason why I'm trying to acquire some info is because I currently fly for a decent company here in the US but have always wanted to fly for Air NZ and I want to make sure I'm making the right move for my family.

If you want to live in NZ and wait 10 years for a command then you won't find a better contract.
If you don't want to live in NZ then there's more money to be made ALMOST anywhere else.

Of course money isn't the only thing to consider. Medical/dental benefits, flight benefits, retirement etc are all things I need to look at as well but I'm having a lot of difficulty finding even basic info in any of those areas.
Medical benefits - Nil
Dental benefits - Nil
Flight benefits - probably not as good as you're used to
Retirement benefits - Nil
Because the benefits you're asking about are pretty well non existent in any job in this part of the world you won't find much info.

Air New Zealand pilots have a reasonable superannuation (pension) plan, if you work there for 25+ years it is a reasonable amount of money, normally private health insurance (medical/dental) will be affordable to an individual..
Zlin77, the superannuation scheme is only the kiwisaver one. The employee's contribution being matched dollar for dollar by the company, just the same as for anyone working for any other company. Nothing all that special.

Does anyone have a pdf format of the latest Air NZ pilot contract? I tried to google it but saw nothing? I have the latest Virgin America pilot contract if anyone would like to exchange it to compare. Seeing if staying at VX would be good or maybe trying to try a shot for Air NZ or Fiji Airways in the future.
Those that want some more details can PM me and I'll try to answer as best I can. I'm currently on the A320 but have done some time long haul so have experience in both sides of the operation.

Hi, yeah I'd really like to chat with you about the over all lifestyle of an ANZ pilot. Like I stated earlier I'm currently on the A320 with JetBlue airways (yes I am a NZ citizen) and am trying to decide what will be best for my family, staying here or going to NZ.
27/09 - sorry, I presumed from you commenting that you were an ANZ pilot, obviously you are not. Super is not just KiwiSaver. You are also a little off track with your ideas on the benefits available.
