Another Yarrawonga Trike Accident
Sunfish, seriously, that is probably the stupidest post you have ever typed on that keyboard of yours.
Based on that theory, you should never fly your little Zenith bug smasher if you ever manage to finish building it.

Squawk have you seethe video Kaz3g posted of what happens when a trike is upset? Considering that such a mild manoeuvre happens almost ever time I fly, then the combination of Trike + Sunfish is a disaster waiting to happen!
"Upset" ?? The guy fell out of a half-baked attempt at a loop! He ended up in what was essentially a lateral spin.
I have a best mate who is a cameraman. He and his best cameraman mate made a pact some years ago when they both had just had kids that they would stop doing stupid aviation stuff
Simon was supposed to do the Jervis Bay shoot in a Squirrel. When told that the Squirrel was unavailable and that the Andrew was going to use his own R44, Simon refused to continue the job.

I've yet to find a coroners report on Jaspers Brush or ABC crashes.
As memories fade so does the stimulus to learn from mistakes.
More than one cameraman turned down the Jaspers brush flight.
Yet Mike perhaps felt obliged to do it... why?
Why did a craft cameraman end up in a trike, perhaps shooting air to air?
Don't look to the accident report for why the crash occurred.

Mick,
John Driftmier seems to have gone up, in his own time, in an aircraft that was clearly unsuitable for the task at hand. (The crash site is at just under 14,000 ft. I don't know what the local temperature is, but since it's near the equator, you can easily imagine it being ISA+15 - so you can easily imagine the DA being near the aircraft's 16,000 ft service ceiling.)
As you say, there were other aircraft around, but if people make poor decisions...
