And you wonder why aviation issues can't get traction? Truss announces the next stage of a Ten billion inland railway from Melbourne to Brisbane. Then there is a leadership challenge abbott vs turnbull.

…..and we expect government to be sympathetic to aviation issues?????

Sorry.can't happen unless we can deliver electoral success (or more importantly failure) to one group or another.

Get political or forget regulatory reform.

With Mr Abbott creating an atmosphere of shambles punctuated by crisis, it was very hard for ANY issue to get traction.

The inland railway has been coming for years and years.

We need a Minister for aviation or at least a Parl Sec.

I admire Warren Truss. He's one of the most cunning politicians that Australia has produced. Having obtained leadership of the National Party and later deputy Prime Ministership, he's not going to let that go anytime soon. And that is all for his self serving benefit.

So those that really think that he has any interest in aviation? Good luck!

I lived in Truss' electorate once. He was very good at doing nothing. From memory the main reason he was electable was due to a lack of a credible local opposition.
