Cessna on an island off WA -- how did it get there?

Can you figure out how this plane landed on this tiny island with no airfield? - Telegraph

Does anyone know the story?

Are you sure it's on the ground?

Possible low level overflight captured at the right moment?

It's probably a garden ornament. No spinner or prop shadow.

Yep. Wing shadow appears offset while buildings and tanks aren't.

The island in the OP with the aircraft pictured is not East Wallabi Island.

Correct. But it's only 1500 meters from where the aircraft ended up in the water!
