Glider pilots wanted?
What is the best way to get in touch with glider pilots down under? We used to have an instructor at my club from Oz, and I would like to reopen old ties....
(Shame about the weather in Brisbane! what are they burning in that town to set off all the CuNimb in Queensland? We forgot to put a Puchaz in the hangar at Booker a few years back, and it ended up on the roof! despite being tied down with concrete blocks....they were up on the roof as well.)
Hope all those light aircraft were thoroughly insured....

Alternatively, go to Gliding Australia for soaring and sailplane pilots
Second tab across drop down menu brings up 'Find A Club'. Nominate the State, click on the club desired and full contact details are available.

Mary,
patch me a pm with the name of the person you are seeking. Gliding in Oz is a small fraternity. If I don't know the person you seek, I'll know someone that does.
Cheers

WOW Banjo! the elite of the UK has transmuted to NZ, I wondered what had become of all those ancient soaring pilots! There are old pilots, and bold pilots, and these guys are both!

Alas, noooby and Pinky, I havn't yet made it to the southern hemisphere....Though it is mighty tempting, you guys throw a jolly good party!
At this moment in time, my finances are devoted to the new set of wheels, alas, my wings have been clipped. How about if you chaps come to our party next June? it goes on for nine days, at Shenington, and it is my joy and responsibility to plan the events. Sat. 20 June, Highland Games. Sun. Fish and Chips, Monday BBQ, Wed. Morris Dancers. Friday Pub Quiz. Sat. 27, 1940's Victory Hangar Dance....the only social event in the gliding world which requires a NOTAM.
No Belly Dancers this year, but plenty of Beer.
And some cross country flying.
