Gyrocopter crash at Burra today
A gyrocopter crashed onto the golf course at Burra in S.A.'s mid north this morning. The pilot sustained a badly lacerated finger plus a broken leg. He was initially taken to the Burra hospital, but later flown to Adelaide.

Amazing journalism, ABC (if DF's version is the correct one).

PS - obviously now it was a powered hang glider & not a gyrocopter as was stated by the SES personnel that first alerted me to the incident. Even on the paging feed it came up as a light aircraft crash, which I guess it was - sort of!

Yahoo News goes one step further and runs a story describing it as both a powered hang-glider AND a gyrocopter!

And there's no sign of rotor blades in the picture being run. Looks to me like it would be better described as an ultralight....
