Feedback on SkyDemon in Australia
Just curious if many people use (or even know about) SkyDemon in Australia for VFR flight planning and navigation. I used it extensively in the past in Europe and the USA (on both the PC and iPad) and found it to be an amazing piece of software, but switched to OzRunways (which is also pretty damn good) after returning to Australia as SkyDemon didn't have support for Australian mapping at the time.
I see that SkyDemon recently came to an agreement with Airservices Australia to support Australian charts for a small charge. Has anybody got any feedback after using this? Given that SkyDemon uses rendered dynamic charts I am a bit wary that all relevant information may not be there. I have done some quick comparisons in flight between OzRunways and SkyDemon and found that SkyDemon was very accurate but my flights have mostly been within an hour or two of my local airport so far. Also, one of the best features of SkyDemon overseas was the overlay of notams onto the chart. Again, wondering if anybody has had any issues with this (e.g. missing notams or notams overlaid in the wrong location)?

Writing from the SkyDemon office, getting Australian plates into the software would be absolutely fantastic.
However, I don't think we will be able to offer them until we have reached a critical mass of Australian users. Air Services have an... aggressive... pricing policy in place which makes things difficult.
I will keep an eye on this thread, so any other feedback points from Aus/NZ SkyDemon users would be very welcome. Give us an idea of what would be best to focus on in the region.
