Graduated Jetstar cadet
I applied for the cadet program and just about to do my assessments/interview.
Any past cadet be able to shed some light on life at Jetstar after graduating from the program, and any tips/hints on the assessments/interview would be highly appreicated.
Feel free to pm me with details

the (AUS) cadets starting salary is 57k, moving up to 84k in line with the AUS EBA after 2 years service. Certainly doesn't seem like 'terrible pay and conditions' for somebody with no experience in the aviation industry
I fly a god damn turbo-prop under 5,700kg's and I get more than that!
When will people in this industry stop f*cking degrading themselves!!!

questions answered here.
There was a better one, scripted straight out of the mouth of a Westfield Mall dwelling bogan from Paramatta but can't seem to find it at the moment.

Its my understanding that the first ab-initio course hasnt finished yet, having been going for around 18 months. Expect a couple more months to completion, then a few more months of A320 training etc, then a few more months of line training after that. I havent been following things closely enough to say anything about the advanced course option beyond that looking at the cost of it caused my eyes to water. Personally I find the idea of charging people to be interviewed/tested for a job is morally wrong.

I know a bloke that has done it... already complaining about the terrible pay and conditions, but that's what you get for trying to jump ahead...
Here is a post I placed in the other JQ thread, I note nobody responded. Perhaps it would be of relevance to this thread as well, somebody in the know may be able to formulate a response.
Interested to know if new hire AUS based JQ Cadets are placed onto the Aus EBA or NZ/overseas?
I understand there was the AIPA legal action which succeeded in securing the current (at the time) cadets a place on the AUS EBA, what about new guys?

If they were only f***ing up their own career and financial prospects, I couldn't care less. Problem is they are screwing everyone in the industry.
