YPKU Diversion
Heard a bit of chatter on center yesterday re the runway at YPKU blocked by a aircraft. A jet diverted to YBRM as there was going to be a delay in removing the aircraft. Sounded more than a flat tyre.
Any one know the details?

Is that the same one that scoots around and under you when you're on long final at Headland?
That would be a different one, owned by the chap that owns Golden Eagle.

- when their replica Spitfire MK 26B collapsed onto its undercarriage
'XXX' even the pilot was a replica, age wise that is as the real WW2 pilots would have just been kids anyway! That sight would have been an all to famil picture during WW2, an awkward looking Spit suffering U/C problems.

I've never understood "charity flights". How does it work?
"I'm about to do something I find REALLY fun, how's about you pay for me to do it, and I'll give an undisclosed portion of that cash to charity after my holiday... if there's any left."

Haha that is what I wonder to checkers.
From what I have seen by way of the RFDS one participants pay all there own expenses, and fund raising is by way of a schedule of activities, everything from selling raffle tickets in pubs resorts etc and selling shirts etc or just plain begging for donations.
