Opportunities up north?

Anyone able to give an indication of the current situation up north with regards to hiring?

My hours (and therefore $$) are trickling in at an alarmingly slow rate at the moment and am looking to move on. Currently have 625 hours, 350 C210, MECIR with 1 renewal and 30 hours Baron (probably won't help at the moment though). Working on the east coast, but would like to move north to a good company (if there is such a thing) with the opportunity for proggresion onto twins....eventually.

Any chance of getting work in Darwin or Broome with my hours, or should I head to Kunner's and join the queue. I do understand that its probably not the best time of year to go up at the moment.

Cheers

Your hours are too good for Kunners, plenty of 170-300 hr punters. Alice.

Seriously - have you considered applying to join the RAAF as a trainee pilot? When I was 17, I was dead broke but managed to scrape up enough cash to go solo on a Tiger Moth at Bankstown. The RAAF Interview Board were impressed with my 8 hours on the Tiger and offered me the opportunity to learn to fly for free. Wonderful years on many types and best career move I ever made. Three meals a day and good accommodation. Beats hanging around sweeping hangar floors and pulling beers for bogans

You'll never, never know, if you never never go.

Airlines seem to be recruiting at the moment, so the music is definitely playing - great time to find a seat before the music stops.

Have you tried Polar Aviation in Port Hedland?

They operate Barons and 210's.
