What a sight, a Lanc a Spit & a Huri, all in formation over the palace, that sight was what almost made me shed a tear not the wedding although I must admit Kate is very attractive
I wonder if that is the only Lanc still flying in the UK?

Yeah I know the Mods will shift this elsewhere as it's irreverent.

Because nothing says romance like a parade of machinery designed to blow up **** an kill people!

Still, wish I had that on my wedding - the only typhoon there was the front sweeping through between starter and main course. So much for dinner outdoors!

Thank your lucky stars that these machines, flown by heroic crews, were very good at 'blow[ing] up **** an kill[ing] people'.

If they hadn't been, there would have been no Royal Wedding and you would be speaking Japanese or German right now, with a picture of Hirohito or the Fuhrer on your lounge room wall!

P.S. there is a Lancaster thread on the Nostalgia forum running at the moment.

We recently had a doco on telle hosted by......by......cannot recall his name. But the doco reckons there are 3. One in Canada, one is the UK and another owned by brothers in the UK that has one which at the moment conducts taxi runs only, but is certainly flyable once the funds are raised to put it there. (eg maintenece check and rego)

What a sight, a Lanc a Spit & a Huri ...
Agreed. Found myself rewinding and watching that bit 3-4 times over!

Then got to thinking, what snags presented - and then were ignored for the big day?

Fuel leaks, oil leaks, radios U/S, lights U/S, instruments U/S, etc ...

Who cares?

I reckon that, provided the engines started, and the wings and control surfaces were present, they were going!

Dart, dude, you need to get a better internet connection or set your browser to display images, it seems you are the only one who didn't spot the wink smiley at the end of that sentence.
