BOSE Aviation X

Hey,
Anybody out there know if you can fit DC Clark Gel Earseals to the Bose Headset? My originals have lasted about 18 months here in the tropics (NT). Bose recommend that you change them every 500hrs flying. The Bose seals aren't the best quality for this climate.
Anybody have the new DC Clark 13.4 Noise cancelling? Are they any good? The Bose are pretty good in most planes, but the good old C310 they are pretty much useless during takeoff. I took them off during takeoff and there was bugger all difference. Sometimes I think the $1500 spent would have been better on Lightspeed or stick with the DC 13.4 and drink the $1500.
Your Thoughts!!!

I would get your Bose looked at. If you experience no difference when you remove them, there is a problem. Mine are awsom. You might want to serch out the thread on headsets. Its jam packed with the info you require.

Something's not right, send them back and get them fixed!

Bose customer service is excellent. And no you can't fit DC gel seals to a Bose, nor should you need to!

Have you turned them on? They're not all that good as passive noise control, a-la early DC's etc, but with the ANC I too found mine awesome.

DC Gel Seals

I fitted my BoseX's with DC gel seals about 4 months ago - so far so good. They fit well and comfort-wise, they piss all over the originals which I found very uncomfortable. The only downside is you sweat a little more but only 'till the aircon fires up

Thanks for the info. Getting a new set of earseals from Global Aviation. I might try the Gel seals from my spare 13.4 and see how they go until the bose turn up.

PS: I forgot to mention that when you remove the headset in the C310 it sounds like it does not work properly, maybe it's the prop sync that is the issue. Titan (C404) not much better until off the ground.

Are you wearing thick armed sunglasses? I didn't realise how loud the 310 was until I swapped headsets (DCs) with a mate mid flight. After that said mate bought a pair of Bose X.
