I was of the understanding that they were looking to put a turbine upfront e.g. an Allison. This would allow for the airvan to be placed on floats without to big a performance loss, and no associated stretch to the fuselage that some were keen on.

Last discussions i heard about, were that Gipps had begun looking at outsourcing the engineering work required for the Allison conversion to a US based company due to the delays on the turbo certification over here.

Turbo version is certified and units are being sold already. The Turbo was added specifically for the floats according to the people I spoke to at the factory. If they were going to go for the turbine, it would only make sense to add a bay and increase the seating capacity. would almost be a standard Caravan then.
oh? i'm confused then. Cause when i was last there, today infact, i heard their still waiting on CASA to get their ass into gear. They are accepting orders for them though

Maybe that is how it was implied then. I was talking with a lady about getting one of the trade ins. she told me it was all go and they have several aircraft available that gad been traded for the turbo version. Maybe she is talking about future orders or something, but she definitely left me with the impression that it was all happening.
would have to be future orders. Unless they have some built, but are just waiting for CASA certification to ship them. might have to sneak around their other hangers and have a look
