Just received this today...
I would like to thank you for your application for a pilot position with Jetstar. Your qualification and experience meet our company minimum requirements; however due to business needs we do not have any further positions available at this time and as such have put our selection process on hold.
We will be in contact with you once business needs change and more positions become available.
To maintain your eligibility it is important that you keep all your contact and employment details current on your online application. Also please advise us if your situation changes and you wish to be removed from our hold list.
Many thanks for your patience and continued interest.
Oh well

1. Your guess as good as anyones
2. Until recently, yes. Although with more airframes due early in the new year word has it this is unlikely now.
3. Yes. J* has been known in the past to send its recruitment team overseas to cast its net wider. If theres a bunch of you then maybe?

standardbrief,
I'd be very careful in accepting employment at Avalon. Jetstar are no longer flying Avalon/adelaide and Avalon/perth.
some of the shops at the terminal have closed down
the international prospects are dead according to lindsay because the defence dept who own the land have said no internationals
can jetstar keep the facilities at avalon with 8 flights a day
very costly operation for a few flights and one has to ask whether the defence dept have some thoughts of taking back and building our next strike fleet as in the past.
a lot of question on the future of avalon?

Cheers POQL,
Shame if it does cease operations for Jet Star seems like a nice little airport to be based.
Want to avoid the hassle factor of a large airport!
What's melbourne int like as a base then?
