Everybody got a 406MHz ELT yet ?
EPIRB Rego.
Confirmation just received by e-mail - within minutes of faxing.![Thumb](https://www.pprune.org/images/smilies/thumbs.gif)
Interestingly enough, the following para. was part of their confirmation of receipt;
"Information contained on the register is critical to search and rescue operations and to your personal safety. It is your responsibility to ensure the details are kept up to date because it will help make our lifesaving job a lot easier when you most need it."
The system works......now.![Thumb](https://www.pprune.org/images/smilies/thumbs.gif)

Just noticed this gem on the AMSA website Switch to 406
I never received such a registration sticker., has anyone received or seen such a thing ?
Registration stickers are issued by AMSA and provide distress beacon owners and marine inspectors with proof of current registration.
The sticker will note the HexID/UIN of the beacon, its registration expiry date (2 years from date of issue) and vessel name, aircraft tail number or owner's name depending on type of beacon and use. This registration sticker must be affixed to the beacon.
A fine may result if a current sticker is not affixed to a beacon during a safety equipment inspection.

Dunno 'Biggles',
I spoke to two AMSA people today on the tel ref my own 'missed' rego, got that sorted, and NO mention of a 'Rego Sticker' at all.
Have sent an e-mail to the AMSA site querying same. Too late to ring them now...
Will advise outcome.......if any.
Cheers, and GOOD FLYING / FISHING........![Thumb](https://www.pprune.org/images/smilies/thumbs.gif)

Have received letter with rego sticker recently (for initial reg of PLB with a/c details 2y ago).
Suggest do whatever to ensure details are registered and recheck. Right now they are probably overloaded with this and you could fall throgh the cracks.
Re 406 and 406GPS. 406 give an ID (every 50 sec)so they can ring to check false alarm -position (5nm) takes a couple of hours. 406GPS gives ID and after GPS accquistion position to 4 sec (lat/long which is where the 120m comes from). So with 406GPS after no answer/they were flying phone stuff there is a position for the SAR FMS.

I never recieved a rego sticker, but they did ring me as they couldn't read my garbled handwriting over the fax machine! Guess I had better ring them.

EPIRB Sticker....
The following received from AMSA.....
"Your proof of registration sticker will hopefully be mailed this Wednesday 26th November. Until your sticker arrives your welcome to print your email confirmation letter and keep onboard the vessel.
It is NOT law in WA to have a Beacon registration sticker until 1FEB09, therefore it was not mentioned as you will receive one within the next couple of weeks well in advance of the compliance date."
Don't know about youse other States / Territories...but in WA apparently we require the sticker after 1 Feb 09.......
Thanks for the 'Heads Up' Biggles!!![Thumb](https://www.pprune.org/images/smilies/thumbs.gif)

Ex FSO Grifffo
Paid $558 - intro special - but had to wait over three months whilst AMSA certified it before I could take delivery (fortunately didn't pay until I got it).
Stickers - Received them for mine, and for the ones in the work aircraft as well.

To all concerned,
EPIRB Rego sticker received in the mail today.
Curiously, it has an 'Exp. Date: 25 Nov 2010'
So I rang and spoke to AMSA. (1800 406 406)
The deal is that around the 25 Nov 2010, AMSA will send a 'prompt' which we will fill in and the beacon will then be registered for a further two years.
And so on....
Thanks Guys.
