Helicopter Instructor Rating
I'm looking for suggestions for a school to do a helicopter instructor rating in a few months.
Got solid experience in fixed-wing instructing, and helicopter and fixed-wing charter. Current on helicopters and aeroplanes.
Anywhere in Oz is ok; happy on Robbies, but open to others. Would like somewhere that does helicopters and aeroplanes, if possible. Price isn't a big issue; Staff competence and good flying hours after getting the rating matter the most.
Any suggestions ? Reasons ?

Try the Rotorheads forum, you'll find a wealth of info on the search facility. I did my CPL(H) with --- PHS Professional Helicopter Services --- and I know several guys that returned for the instructor rating and got work. I've also heard good things about Heliwest in Perth Heliwest|Helicopters Perth|Helicopters Mining|Helicopter Tours|Helicopter Charter|Flight School| Helicopter Aerial photography|Agriculture
Alot will depend on your location.

Thanks for that. Looking for opinions about Australian schools, so I'll let it run here for a few days, and get it moved over to Rotorheads if the responses are a bit thin.
Location doesn't matter to me - There are no instructor schools here so I'll have to move whatever the decision. Quality and hours matter the most.
Anything specific -good or otherwise- about those places that you'd care to share ? or PM is ok too.

In terms of future employment prospects, it's probably worth having a good look at Chopperline, who are now part of the Curry Kenny group of companies and as such one of the biggest entities in the Australian rotary business. With the MPT and other businesses in the group, there should be plenty of opportunities.
Can't go wrong with PHS either methinks, their reputation is impeccable and the school always busy..

I checked my logbook and was surprised to see that we've never flown together, Mr Lucky - So I guess you're safe from me ... Quite a few flights with Lucky Jnr, of course ! Looking forward to the day I hear him on the radio as an RPT skipper while I'm bashing the circuit in C152s and R22s :-))
Plenty of great moments of course - The guy who put his hand up to be my first aeroplane student all those hours ago, wants the same privilege once I get the heli instructor rating :-)

Giday Unhinged, Congrats Mate, you handled that cheeky wind up like the pro that I know that you are.
Good to see you planning for your moving forward; I would be surprised at any other outcome in your case.
Respect from Lucky.
