flying school @ gold coast airport

Looking for recommendations for a good flying school at Gold Coast Airport for an ab inition student.

As far as I know, you've only got the choice between Air Gold Coast and Australian Wings Academy.

AGC has some good instructors and some decent rates from what I can remember. Should give them a try.

Don't bother with AWA. It's mainly based for international students, hence the inflated course costs.

I probably wouldn't bother, unless you are able to fly full-time, and are doing a CPL, for both places. I spoke to both schools recently, both very friendly, both said CPL full-time only, AGC told me no ab initio until November.

They are busy because of a lack of pilots, can't hire enough suitable trained instructors.

Still, I'd give them a call and speak to them.

I know AWA only takes full-time CPL's, but AGC seemed okay with part-time PPL courses. Having said that, I enquired about this back in March.
