CASA Flyswatter Quality

I find the CASA flyswatter that came with the recent Flight Safety magazine to be of very poor quality. Much too flexible to be effective.

Would have been more effective if CASA had provided a Baseball Bat, so we can beat them around the head with it!!mmmmmmm maybe thats why they didn't

I tend to disagree,
After opening the plastic sleeve and looking in amazement at this gift from our wonderful regulator, an opportunity came along and i took it. A staunch blowie landed on the plastic sleeve and has since left a nice wet patch on the CASA side of said fly swatter. I mean thats what they are for right?

A fly swatter??????

I thought it was CASA's poor attempt at humour. When you find yourself up 'tish' creek you use it as a paddle to get yourself out!

Oars well that ends well!

Probably part of some new makeover of CASAs public image, like those new hats with the graffiti-ish logo.

Keep an eye out for the Shizzlator CARs...

I actually thought it was a novel idea.

After recently almost forgetting to canx sartime (my instructor included) - i'm not complaining.

Better than the stupid stickers we used to get 10+ years ago.

I got mine on my headset bag

I didn't get one either! But then the identical company copy of that superior in-depth safety journal came, to the same address the next day - and it had one in in!!! Wow nice colourful 'thingy'! I wonder how many medical processing fees they used on that exceptionally positive attempt to improve their image. We now believe they are actually a serious regulator!

I'm going to staple mine to the brim of my baseball cap. I'll wear it backwards in flight and reverse it when I land and CASA's instructions will be right in front of my eyes to remind me.

I've thought I might put it on a little post on the cowl as a yaw indicator but that would be an illegal modification according to CASA.

Alternatively I could blutack it to the windshield in front of me as an aiming point, but the CFI might object.

I didnt get one! I did get a pamphlet that told me I would be subject to random drug and alcohol testing at airports, though.

What are these fly-swatters really supposed to be?

Nice to know that my fees and charges are being spent in an appropriate way

For the benefit those missing out, the fly swatter is an oversized fluro key tag designed to stimulate your memory to cancer sar with the words "attatch to mobile phone or keys" written on the ....handgrip.

Maybe they only sent it to people who have forgotten to cancel SAR at some point in the past?
